Community Livelihood Impact Foundation (CLIF)

Who We Are

Community Livelihood Impact Foundation (CLIF) is a grassroots, community-driven organization based in Taita Taveta County, Kenya. We exist to tackle the root causes of poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation by working hand in hand with vulnerable communities to create sustainable, long-term solutions.

We understand that challenges like lack of education, poor healthcare, unemployment, and climate change are interconnected. That’s why our programs address these issues holistically — ensuring that when one problem is solved, it strengthens the whole community.

Our Vision

A thriving, empowered, and self-reliant community with dignity for all.

Our Mission

To empower vulnerable communities through innovative and sustainable programs in poverty alleviation, healthcare, education, water, environment, gender inclusion, youth empowerment, and economic development.

Our Story

CLIF was founded in response to the pressing social and economic challenges faced by communities in Taita Taveta County and beyond. We saw firsthand how lack of access to basic needs — like clean water, quality education, and healthcare — kept people trapped in cycles of poverty.

From our beginnings as a small grassroots initiative, we have grown into a recognized development organization that partners with communities, local leaders, and stakeholders to create programs that deliver real change. Every project we run is designed with and for the community, ensuring that solutions are relevant, sustainable, and locally owned.

Our Core Values

Integrity

Upholding honesty and transparency in everything we do

Inclusivity

Ensuring no one is left behind, regardless of gender, age, or background.

Innovation

Finding creative, practical solutions to complex challenges

Sustainability

Designing programs that create lasting change.

Collaboration

Working with communities, partners, and stakeholders to maximize impact.

Our Approach

We believe in empowering rather than providing. By equipping people with skills, resources, and opportunities, we enable them to become agents of their own change. Our programs are designed to:

  • Build self-reliance

  • Strengthen resilience

  • Restore dignity

  • Protect the environment for future generations
